Water Safety Open Day

In recognition and support of the global advocacy World Drowning Prevention Day, Water Safety Scotland (WSS) and partners host an annual Water Safety Open Day at Helix Park, Falkirk.

World Drowning Prevention Day is held on July 25 every year and this year’s open day aims to build on the success of last year’s inaugural event. The key focus of the event is to raise awareness of water safety amongst as many members of the public as we can and to foster an increased knowledge of the potential dangers around water, and what to do in an emergency. As well as this, we want to actively encourage people to take part in water-related activities in a safe and enjoyable manner.

Water Safety Scotland, thanks to generous funding and support from Scottish Water, RoSPA, SFRS, Falkirk Council, Police Scotland and Scottish Canals, will be hosting this year’s free event from 11am to 3pm. We will have information stands, demonstrations and activities for children and young people, all with the aim of raising awareness of water safety and drowning prevention. There will be competitions running on the day too, with the chance to win some great prizes.

Come along to support the day and spread the word to colleagues, friends and family!
